Having met at Szell Kalman Square at 10.30, the six AIC students with the guides took a few minute’s rides by bus (16A)  to the Royal Castle. AIC had the pleasure to welcome 20 Turkish students and 4 accompanying teacher Colleagues from Kilis on our premises and to spend the whole week together with exciting academic and social programmes from 19 to 23 February for the entire working week. AIC opened the New Year with a very unique cultural program located under Buda Castle to improve the knowledge of the graduating class about modern history. Out of 29 students and adults,13 grade12 and six Italian Erasmus students visited the Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker Museum (Hungarian: Sziklakórház Atombunker Múzeum) with six Erasmus teachers from Italy and four accompanying teachers from Avicenna Bilingual High School. On a beautiful autumn day at 9.30 am, 22 students met in Heroes' Square to take part in the first of a series of AIC-organized city tours, called ‘Step in the footsteps of heroes’. This cultural programme is an opportunity for our young adults, mainly Persians, students, who have been coming to AIC for a few weeks, to gain an insight into the culture, behavior and customs of EU citizens and the history of the country. 36 AIC participants took part in this year’s School Trip to go to Sopron and Vienna on 13-15 June. We were 26 students and 10 colleagues strong, including our 5 Italian Erasmus students and their accompanying teacher for the trip Agatino, who came to us on a Job Shadowing assignment for the last week of the 2022-23 academic year.

This April Avicenna International College organised the German Travel and Study programme called Lindau Deutsch camp for the second time in a row. The programme was fully funded by AIC, the students had to pay for their train tickets only. This time around we had 11 GFP students and one high school student from Grade 11 accompanied by Frau Ágota as the leader of German language education at AIC and Herr Steve, AIC principal and Travel and Study programme manager. 10 Italian students accompanied by their three teachers from the Sigismondi High School in Nocera Umbra (Umbria region) joined AIC for 10 days in the framework of an Erasmus grant supported EU student mobility for the purposes of scholastic and cultural exchange between EU high schools. Our Italian guests arrived on 7 December and were picked up at the Ferihegy International Airport to be taken directly to Cinkota Residence. On the 7th, 8th and 11th of November the students and teachers of the AIC Diploma Programs participated in a cultural program of Budapest city tour starting from Heroes’ square and touching the City Park, Széchenyi Spa, the Városliget Ice Rink, Vajdahunyad Castle, the Budapest Zoo, Gundel Restaurant, Andrássy Avenue, Octagon Square, the Hungarian Opera House, and St Stephens’ Basilica - the largest church in Budapest.
