Exploring European Culture and History: AIC Students Embark on ‘Step in the Footsteps of Heroes’ City Tour

On a beautiful autumn day at 9.30 am, 22 students met in Heroes' Square to take part in the first of a series of AIC-organized city tours, called ‘Step in the footsteps of heroes’. This cultural programme is an opportunity for our young adults, mainly Persians, students, who have been coming to AIC for a few weeks, to gain an insight into the culture, behavior and customs of EU citizens and the history of the country. BIMUN Conference – first dissemination event about a new initiative at AIC

At the end of April, we held our first dissemination event about a new initiative at AIC: Our Model UN Club and shared some insights of our participation in the Model UN – BIMUN Conference. The teachers, Ms. Emese, Mr. Márk, and 5 chosen students have been working assiduously on a so-called ‘Pilot year’ of Model UN and preparing its implementation fully into our annual curriculum and school-year schedule.

First English Language Competition Held for Budapest Secondary Schools by Avicenna International College

For the first time, Avicenna International College organized a two-round English Language Competition for 6th-8th grade students, with the aim of covering all primary schools in Budapest.   The online round took place on 28 January 2023, for which 133 students registered free of charge, and the second, offline round was held on 13 March. The 118 students from 29 secondary schools with their teachers and parents mainly from Budapest assembled in the largest ground-floor auditorium, and sat around the tables allocated to their school, waiting to be called 10 minutes before their exams. AIC Prom Night 2022

The promenade (prom) dance night of AIC seniors coupled with the ribbon ceremony (’Szalagavató’ in Hungarian, [lit] ribbon graduation) was held on the 17th of November (Thursday), for the second time in the Ferencváros Cultural Center and Theater. During the ceremony, the Principal of Avicenna High School (Mr. Steve Szabó) gave a welcome speech to open the event highlighting the vast number of international students in the graduating year. Upcoming cultural programs in High School

AIC is inviting its high school students for three upcoming cultural activities in the following week. As all the students of our language preparation class have recently arrived in Hungary, we are keen to introduce them the city, its transport, history and its main squares and buildings. Lindau Deutschcamp

As an innovation regarding our German language programme at the AIC, we decided to give the opportunity to 11 students to spend a week in the Bavarian city Lindau at our partner language school Dialoge. The students stayed with specially selected German host families. We took an ÖBB train from the Keleti Train Station and entered Germany through the Austrian city Salzburg. The Austrian Alpine scenery, watched from the train, was just simply ‘wunderschön’. We changed trains in Munich and continued with the DB down to the Swiss border to reach our destination Lindau.
