Knowledge of finance and marketing is vital for high school students to be successful in both their personal and professional lives. Schools play a decisive role in preparing students for attainment in the modern economy by providing them with knowledge about finance and marketing. This understanding is essential for personal financial management, career readiness, economic mindfulness, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking skills.

Setting a math contest focused on finance and marketing can help students improve important skills, gain practical knowledge, and prepare for future accomplishment in a broad range of professions. We set the project day as a one day program. All students in high school were involved, so we got together in the conference hall, to start the day with an hour presentation regarding some financial calculations. Summaries passed to the students, so they could have a view on the principles. After a break they had two options to continue the project day. Knowing about finance and marketing is important for high school students for numerous reasons:
  • Financial literacy: Understanding plain financial conceptions such as budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management is crucial for making informed financial decisions in the future.
  • Career opportunities: Knowledge of finance and marketing can open up a wide range of career opportunities in industries such as banking, investment management, advertising, and sales.
  • Personal finance management: High school students will soon be entering adulthood and will need to manage their own finances. Understanding financial notions can help them make smart decisions about spending, saving, and investing.
  • Entrepreneurship: For students interested in starting their own business, knowledge of marketing and finance is essential for developing a business plan, attracting customers, and managing finances.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills: Studying finance and marketing can help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by analyzing market trends, evaluating financial data, and developing marketing strategies.
  • Economic awareness: Understanding finance and marketing can help students understand how the economy works, including how businesses work, how consumers make purchasing decisions, and how government policies impact the economy.
After another short break, all students gathered in the conference hall again to join an exciting online meeting with a respected researcher in financial marketing Mr. Marton Farkas as an expert in Financial Investment (Cryptocurrency). The presentation was so easy to follow for the students, so they could learn more about digital currency, which is an alternative form of payment created using encryption algorithms, along with so many figures and tables showing how this encryption technologies are growing each day. It is valued that we could hold the Project Day of Mathematics subject this dynamic.  Either joining for the math competition of the topics taught during the presentation with their group mates and get a reward for that, or  joining another presentation regarding the initial and decisive understanding of daily basis finance through watching a video and having the chance to play an online game designed for the financial matters. The competitors where so excited about the time they had with their groups, as they could put what they learnt earlier in action, and get some cakes and chocolates as their present to share them with their friends.  Our special thanks goes to Dr. President Mirzahosseini and Dr. Arash Mirzahosseini as the Managing Director who provided us this opportunity to have such fruitful project day in AIC and also dear Mr. Steve Szabo as our respected Principal and Mr. Laszlo Maroti our Vice-Principal for all their support and dedications.
