On April 29, Avicenna High School had the pleasure of welcoming 54 students and 4 teachers from Greece, including their high school and junior school principal, for a memorable one-day visit as part of an Erasmus+ exchange initiative. The visit began with a warm welcome by the President of Avicenna IC who greeted the guests and emphasized the importance of international collaboration and student mobility in shaping a more connected, understanding, and educated world. This was followed by an insightful introductory workshop led by the Principal of Avicenna High School, who provided an overview of the school’s vision, academic approach, and multicultural community.

The morning continued with a cultural workshop conducted by Erika, one of Avicenna’s teachers, who guided the Greek students through an interactive session exploring elements of Hungarian heritage and student life at the school. The workshop served as a lively platform for exchange and reflection on cultural similarities and differences.

In the afternoon, the group headed into the heart of Budapest for a guided tour of the Hungarian Parliament. Due to the large number of participants, the visit was conducted in two groups, allowing everyone to explore the historic building in depth. The programme was preceded by a moving visit to the “Shoes on the Danube Bank” memorial and concluded with a walk around Kossuth Square, where students reflected on the significance of history and remembrance.

The visit was a rich and inspiring experience for all involved—students, teachers, and school leaders alike. It not only highlighted the power of Erasmus+ projects in building bridges across nations, but also reinforced Avicenna High School’s commitment to international education and meaningful cultural exchange.

We thank our Greek guests for their visit and look forward to future collaborations!
