In addition to its regular cultural programmes partly inbuilt in the curriculum, AIC strives to offer its students, both in the secondary and foundation department, a variety of optional quality leisure time activities outside school hours, but within the school framework.
Therefore, at the end of the summer, AIC started exploring the possibility of extracurricular activities such as learning drumming under the aegis of AIC.

An information session was held on 12 October, with around 40-50 students interested in attending after school.
After a brief introduction Marton Veress, a founder of an International Drum School in Budapest, who lived in New York and Los Angeles the past decade to teach drums in various institutions and playing shows with music industry professionals, talked about his aims to run bilingual international drum classes with a vibrant international community with the same interest.

Knowing that playing the drum has a lot of benefits like improving creativity, teaching discipline and focus, moreover, it reduces stress and helping with hyperactivity besides bringing some new excitement to life we decided to give an opportunity to AIC students a fun and exciting presentation for free where any of them could try an electric drum kit (with adjustable volume) while they were shown the first steps of drumming.

To the background music of familiar pop tunes, more and more brave boys and girls tried to play drum accompaniment to the enthusiastic, rhythmic applause of their fellow students sitting opposite.

The walls of the school were filled with an unusual vibrant atmosphere, with smiling faces and seemingly happy students who were spending meaningful time together. We hope that, following the great interest shown, we will succeed in creating a small community of musicians who will perhaps be able to show us their skills learnt during regular drumming classes at the International Student Festival in April.

Ismerős popdalok háttérzenéjére egyre több bátor fiú és lány próbált dob kíséretet adni a szembe ülő diáktársaik lelkes, ritmusos, tapsos bíztatásával.
