Apply to AIC High School Programs
A structured and supportive environment where students strengthen core academic skills and build confidence for higher-level study.
Program Overview
The Grades 8–12 Academic Program at Avicenna International College is a structured international secondary pathway where learning feels alive, guided, and purposeful. These years represent a critical stage in a student’s development — academically, intellectually, and personally. At AIC, students do not simply move from class to class; they grow through mentorship, responsibility, and active engagement.
This program is designed to strengthen academic foundations while gradually building independence, confidence, and clarity about future educational directions. Within a supportive “second home” environment, students learn how to think, how to organize their time, and how to take ownership of their progress.
Program Objectives
The primary objective of Grades 8–11 is to develop capable, disciplined, and curious learners prepared for higher academic expectations. Students strengthen core competencies in mathematics, sciences, and academic English while refining analytical thinking and structured communication.
By the end of this stage, students are expected to demonstrate
- Strong academic foundations in core subjects
- Structured study habits and time awareness
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Academic writing and presentation confidence
- Increased independence and accountability
Expectations increase gradually each year, ensuring growth without academic overload.
Academic Structure
The curriculum integrates core subjects including mathematics, sciences, English, and humanities, supported by electives that broaden perspective and curiosity. Instruction is delivered in English within a focused classroom environment where mentors guide students not only in subject knowledge but in learning strategy.
Assessment combines continuous evaluation, structured assignments, project work, and formal examinations. Academic monitoring is consistent and transparent, ensuring that progress is measured and areas for improvement are addressed early.
Skills and Personal Development
At AIC, learning extends beyond textbooks. Students develop critical thinking, clear written and verbal expression, collaborative problem-solving, and presentation confidence. They are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and reflect on their growth.
Through mentorship and the AIMES-supported learning environment, students learn how to learn — a skill that prepares them for the evolving demands of higher education and the modern world.
Learning Experience
Small class sizes create space for individual attention, while mentors provide structured guidance and encouragement. The atmosphere balances academic discipline with warmth, ensuring that students feel secure while being challenged.
Technology and AI tools support organization, planning, and feedback, enhancing learning efficiency without replacing human connection. The environment is calm, focused, and internationally diverse — truly a “home away from home” where students grow with confidence.
Academic Progression Path
Grades 8–11 form a continuous progression toward internationally recognized high school diplomas such as IGCSE, A-Level, or national qualifications, depending on the chosen pathway. Each year builds upon the previous one, gradually increasing academic rigor and independence.
By the end of Grade 11, students are positioned to enter advanced high school qualification stages with clarity, discipline, and academic maturity.
Assessment and Evaluation
Student progress is monitored through structured evaluations, midterm and final assessments, and regular mentor feedback. Families receive consistent academic updates and have opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogue about development and progression. Transparency and communication are integral to the program’s structure.
Final Section – Next Step
Applicants must have successfully completed the previous academic year and demonstrate sufficient English proficiency to participate in classroom instruction. Academic transcripts are required, and a placement consultation may be conducted to ensure appropriate grade alignment.
