The Hungarian farsang, also known as the carnival season, is a festive period leading up to the start of Lent. This celebration is a time for indulging in food, drink, and merriment before the period of fasting and reflection that Lent represents in the Christian tradition. On the 11th of November 2022, G11 visited the famous Fiume Graveyard. This extracurricular program was organized by their history teacher, Márk Máté, with the goal of providing AIC students the opportunity to expand their knowledge on the historical era and the people being discussed in school. The program was centered around the stories, tombs and mausoleums of Hungarian intellectuals, politicians and army officers who took an active role in the Reform Era and the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848-49. The promenade (prom) dance night of AIC seniors coupled with the ribbon ceremony (’Szalagavató’ in Hungarian, [lit] ribbon graduation) was held on the 17th of November (Thursday), for the second time in the Ferencváros Cultural Center and Theater. During the ceremony, the Principal of Avicenna High School (Mr. Steve Szabó) gave a welcome speech to open the event highlighting the vast number of international students in the graduating year. On the 8th of November, the President of Avicenna International College opened the roundtable discussion regarding development investment projects in the Orczy quarter. The program organizers, headed by the Director for International Cooperation Amb. János Kovács aimed to create a bilateral dialogue between the main participants and stakeholders of the projects. 

The President of Avicenna International College, Dr. Shahrokh MirzaHosseini, personally represented the college at the ICEF 2022 event in Berlin. The event took place at the Intercontinental hotel which is interestingly located on the "Budapest Street". The conference took place between October 31 and November 01 with intensive meetings and seminars with educational experts and consultants from all over the world. AIC attracted a lot of attention thank to its special approach and unique programs such as dual high school degree, or NCUK and MFP streams. H.E. Mr. Jose Reinaldo Camejo Diaz, the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela paid a visit to Avicenna International College on Thursday 27th of October 2022. We are honored that Mr. Ambassador chose AIC as one of his farewell visits in Budapest as very soon his mandate will end and he will return to his country. In the past few years, AIC has opened its doors towards Latin American countries and Venezuela was the first country to come on board and delegate students to AIC. On the 10th of June, we revived the good old tradition of holding a Graduation Ceremony at the Avicenna. During the two years of Covid it wasn’t possible to hold such a high-profile gathering so this year we did it, as a much-anticipated social event. It was a heart-warming sight to see parents and relatives and teachers of our 10 graduating students filling one of our largest classrooms, room 314 on the first floor. Ambassador of Venezuela in Hungary (H.E. Jose Reinaldo Camejo Diaz) paid an official visit to Avicenna International College on Thursday (February 24, 2022). During this visit, the Ambassador held talks with the President and other officials of AIC.

Mr. Andras Piko, Mayor of Budapest 8th District, accompanied by the Deputy-Mayor and the Head of Cabinet, visited Avicenna International College on Tuesday 26 of October 2021. On this occasion, AIC colleagues introduced the educational programs for the Hungarian and international students. The cultural and extracurricular programs were also introduced which drew the attention of the delegation.
