The Hungarian farsang, also known as the carnival season, is a festive period leading up to the start of Lent. AIC welcomed its very first job shadowing activity when an Italian colleague Alessia Montanucci spent a week with us from 30 Jan until 3 February. Alessia came from Marsciano in Umbria from the Salvatorelli-Moneta high school. She is also the Erasmus coordinator of her school where she teaches English and where two of our 5 Italian Erasmus students are coming from, Luca and Noemi. Alessia joined our language (English, Hungarian and German) and humanities (History, Civilisation, Art) subject classes during her five-day stay at Avicenna. Thanks to its successful application, after 2 subsequent short term, one-year long projects at AVICENNA International College now we have won with our long-term, i.e., 5-year ERASMUS Project Plan, which is all about internationalization, participation in the EU high school education system, meaning fuller integration and involvement. In addition, AVICENNA immediately became a prominent ERASMUS accredited school in Hungary by being the 3rd best out of 8 applicants from Budapest, while it was ranked 9th out of a list of 30 national applications. The promenade (prom) dance night of AIC seniors coupled with the ribbon ceremony (’Szalagavató’ in Hungarian, [lit] ribbon graduation) was held on the 17th of November (Thursday), for the second time in the Ferencváros Cultural Center and Theater. During the ceremony, the Principal of Avicenna High School (Mr. Steve Szabó) gave a welcome speech to open the event highlighting the vast number of international students in the graduating year. On the 8th of November, the President of Avicenna International College opened the roundtable discussion regarding development investment projects in the Orczy quarter. The program organizers, headed by the Director for International Cooperation Amb. János Kovács aimed to create a bilateral dialogue between the main participants and stakeholders of the projects. 

The President of Avicenna International College, Dr. Shahrokh MirzaHosseini, personally represented the college at the ICEF 2022 event in Berlin. The event took place at the Intercontinental hotel which is interestingly located on the "Budapest Street". The conference took place between October 31 and November 01 with intensive meetings and seminars with educational experts and consultants from all over the world. AIC attracted a lot of attention thank to its special approach and unique programs such as dual high school degree, or NCUK and MFP streams.
