Environmental Education: Learning and Acting for a Better Future

Environmental courses are becoming ever more popular compared to a few years ago when they were just not to be found. It obviously brings its own hype into context meaning that almost every course provider started offering these courses with a very diverse quality. I chose this Erasmus course because I had a positive previous experience with the Florence based Europass Teacher Academy offering similar training options.

Before traveling to Malta, I knew the schedule for the course, the exact location, and how to reach there from the MLA airport. Also, he informed us that we need our laptops to be used during the course.”

“This course was designed to introduce climate change education for sustainable development across the curriculum and multiple subjects. We all need to understand how and what to teach about the complex forces driving climate change and its impacts on culture, safety, and the well-being of our lives and the ones to come (future generations). Teachers have an essential role in advancing a whole-school response to climate change.”

The 5 day course which I took part in proved to be beneficial both professionally and culturally. The course provider was Plus Project and I should say that they made sure we have all the necessary information from before our travel. They already sent out the whole program and more through email, set up a Whatsapp group for easier communication and they were ready to help and answer our questions whenever needed. The course was called Inclusive Education – Increase participation in learning of student with different backgrounds which was delivered by our Spanish trainer, Sara, who warmly welcomed us and introduced herself as a professional psychologist. Participants included an elementary teacher from France and 2 secondary school teachers from Czech Republic.
