During Biology lesson, G9 students have their first lesson about nucleic acids that includes DNA and RNA. AIC has stopped offering NCUK programmes from January 2024 and introduced our diploma programmes in business and engineering pathways instead, starting from October 2023. The DITT and DBP programmes are purposefully designed to prepare our students for EU-wide universities to study Business ( DBP) and Engineering (DITT). I had a dream same as every other kid. I wanted to make it into the National team of Hungary. It was a big goal for me that I wanted to achieve no matter what. I started training in 2022 in a local gym where the trainers saw me and told me that I should try powerlifting competitively. After thinking about it I took my chances and I joined my current team Sirius Lifting. I started working together with a coach as soon as possible to be able to compete in November. We had an amazing preparation for the competition and I made it to my first competition in November which was a National qualification competition. At that competition I became second and by that I qualified to National championship.

Avicenna International College held its first School Camp at the magnificent surroundings of the soft range of Pilis mountains in Csattogó Völgy at Verőce on 4.-5. September. 2023. The AIC management has decided to give a special spin to the start of the year and organise team building in a very different way. The scenery for last year’s team building was the Pilis mountains when we went on hiking for the whole day. This time around it had to be a bit different, so we thought of renting two dragon boats and headed to the Danube for rowing.

36 AIC participants took part in this year’s School Trip to go to Sopron and Vienna on 13-15 June. We were 26 students and 10 colleagues strong, including our 5 Italian Erasmus students and their accompanying teacher for the trip Agatino, who came to us on a Job Shadowing assignment for the last week of the 2022-23 academic year.

 On 2 June our Students and Colleagues celebrated the much-awaited second edition of an Avicenna sequel called International Student Festival (AISF2). Sustainability and Innovation Project Week took place at Avicenna International College between 24-28th of April. Preparation for the programs started weeks in advance in order to make this a meaningful event for AIC high school students. Students were divided into groups as a way to strengthen cohesiveness and teamwork of the AIC community, and were given specific topics to research and eventually present to their fellow students.

After years of preparation and hard work, AIC was finally given the opportunity to offer short-term Erasmus+ mobility experiences to our high school students. This semester, fully embarking on this project, we have completed two trips: first to Italy with a group of older students, and then to Ireland with another group of the younger ones. Ten students were selected to spend two weeks in Ireland accompanied by their history teacher, Mr. Mark. Within this short-term Erasmus program, we took part in a so-called “Authentic Irish Experience” project which meant that we were accommodated by local Irish families in Dublin for the duration of our stay and took part in a two-week course provided by Apollo Language Center. The students spent their classes engaging in interactive learning activities with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of Irish history, language and culture, and also to expand their knowledge and consciousness of intercultural values and European citizenship.

The purpose of the unique Pető method is to provide assistance to children and young adults with motor disabilities originating from the damage to the central nervous system. The András Pető Faculty (PAK) of Semmelweis University, founded in 1950, holds the esteemed legacy of András Pető and serves as a global hub for conductive education. At the end of April, we held our first dissemination event about a new initiative at AIC: Our Model UN Club and shared some insights of our participation in the Model UN – BIMUN Conference. The teachers, Ms. Emese, Mr. Márk, and 5 chosen students have been working assiduously on a so-called ‘Pilot year’ of Model UN and preparing its implementation fully into our annual curriculum and school-year schedule.

In March 2023, Avicenna International College (“Avicenna”) signed a memorandum of understanding with Corvinus University of Budapest. Avicenna is a unique local high school in Budapest, that teaches Hungarian curriculum in English language to predominantly international students. Although the University has more than 250 international partners and works with many of the leading high schools in Hungary, this agreement is the first of its kind for Corvinus. [...]

Avicenna International College Hungarian-English Bilingual High School held the Graduation Ceremony of the 2022–2023 academic year on the afternoon of May 4th. During this event the school bids farewell to the graduating high schoolers, and the graduates thank the teachers, staff and school mates for all the joyous memories they shared together.

This April Avicenna International College organised the German Travel and Study programme called Lindau Deutsch camp for the second time in a row. For the first time, Avicenna International College organized a two-round English Language Competition for 6th-8th grade students, with the aim of covering all primary schools in Budapest.   The online round took place on 28 January 2023, for which 133 students registered free of charge, and the second, offline round was held on 13 March. On the 24th of November, AIC students visited Gül Baba's tomb in the Buda district of Rózsadomb. Gül Baba (born in Merzifon, present-day Turkey) was a Dervish member of the Ottoman empire in Buda, who died in 1541. This beautiful türbe (meaning tomb in Turkish) is the northernmost Islamic pilgrimage site in the world and is regarded as a significant part of Hungary's historical heritage as it was left unharmed during the Habsburg invasion and the consequent World Wars.

The promenade (prom) dance night of AIC seniors coupled with the ribbon ceremony (’Szalagavató’ in Hungarian, [lit] ribbon graduation) was held on the 17th of November (Thursday), for the second time in the Ferencváros Cultural Center and Theater. On the 8th of November, the President of Avicenna International College opened the roundtable discussion regarding development investment projects in the Orczy quarter. The interview section of the semi-final exams of the Avicenna International College took place on the 5th of January 2021. Interviews are new to most or all of AIC students. This is a good occasion for the students to experience an interview session which they will soon face when they apply for admission to universities in Hungary and other European countries. Fluency in spoken English is essential for any successful interview, however, the academic knowledge of the student will determine the results. AIC students get plenty of occasions to practice and learn interview skills.

We are proud to announce that our Hungarian and international students received their érettségi (High School Diploma) from the Hungarian Government after completing their studies at the "English-Hungarian Bi-lingual International High School" of Avicenna International College. This degree is accepted in Hungary and all around the world. With this degree, our graduate students can study in Hungary or any other European country with no need for accreditation or evaluation. This degree states that our students have successfully completed high school or secondary studies. It is also a European language certificate (similar to IELTS). So our students do not need to take any other language test during university studies. This degree states that they have English knowledge equal to C1 and also in Hungarian language minimum equal to B1 or B2.

Avicenna International College regards the safety and well-being of its students, teachers, colleagues, and visitors as its most important goal and priority. AIC never stopped serving its students during the lock-down and today we open the campus doors to our community members. We will continue providing online education, consultation, and services to reduce the need to be present at college personally. However, whenever it is required to be present at the college campus, it is mandatory to have PPE and observe social distancing and other health measures to protect everyone during the coronavirus pandemic.

The “Avicenna Mentor-Ambassador” policy is an initiative to engage the past and present students and teachers of AIC as well as the students and teachers of other schools, colleges, and universities to engage in the recruitment, consultation, education, and mentor activities of AIC in their free time. These activities are not considered full-time positions and will not adversely affect the studies or other major responsibilities of the students and teachers.

After my telephone conversation today with Semmelweis University concerning the entrance exam and with respect to the fact your health and safety is the most important goal both for the university and college, it was agreed that our students will take the entrance exam from their homes. The situation with Szeged University is being discussed for a joint or separate exam and I will inform you soon.

Right after Brexit, Dr. Shahrokh MirzaHosseini, President of Avicenna International College (AIC) held talks with the education authorities in the Uk and met with several UK partner universities. After several years of intense work and after the successful launch of the NCUK center in Budapest, It was decided that AIC will establish a branch in the UK. The request of AIC was reviewed and granted with a positive decision. As of March 14, 2020, "Avicenna International College - UK" is officially incorporated and will provide educational services to the UK and international students. This is a great step for AIC global development, especially in relation to its UK and British standards.

Dear Students of AIC, Dear Applicants to Semmelweis and Szeged Universities, The entrance exam to these universities is getting closer. Although we have not received any new instructions from the universities about these exams, we should assume that the exams will be held as scheduled, unless otherwise instructed.

We are in an emergency situation. Yet, the response of AIC to the extraordinary conditions have been prompt and adequate. This has been recognized by the Hungarian Education Authority and the Ministry. AIC was the first in Hungary to provide online education and since then all our teachers are providing education in their classes.

We are experiencing the Extraordinary conditions due to Coronavirus pandemics. Avicenna International College canceled its classes two weeks earlier than the order of the Hungarian Education Authority (OH) to close the schools, universities, and colleges. However, I am happy that thanks to the hard work of my colleagues we immediately started with online education and we will further develop this service in the future. The Student Center of AIC will remain functional and will provide services to our students and other external students to apply for universities. However, these services are now online, via phone, videoconference, and email. We will continue with our meetings (virtual), consultations (online) and registration for the university entrance examinations. My colleagues are working really hard to make sure that you can register at the university of your choice and fulfill all their requirements.

In a letter addressed to Mr. Dani Csaba, the Principal of Avicenna International College, Dr. Veres Gabor from the Ministry of Human Capacities congratulates and welcomes the distance learning program of AIC to prevent the spreading of coronavirus. AIC canceled its classes two weeks before the Government decided to close the schools. Upon calling off the classes, Avicenna International College immediately launched its online education program thanks to the hard work of the experts at the IT Department and the close cooperation of the faculty and teachers. AIC plans to further develop its distance learning resources and strategies in the near future.

Dear AIC Students and Parents, In accordance with the prevailing public health rules and regulations, I have decided to cancel the classes at the college campus until the end of March 2020. We will continually review the conditions and in cooperation with the Health Authorities and Education Authority will bring the best decision that protects the health and safety of all members.

AIC will start with its online education services. The ICT Department of AIC and all the teachers and authorities had a meeting with the President today (09/03/2020). It was announced that the ICT Department has been working hard for the past few days and from tomorrow the new systems of online education will be installed and start working. This will be a great help to the students who will have to learn and study at home to decrease the risks of viral infection. More information about the system will be soon published and all students and teachers will get the technical explanation via their Avicenna emails.

According to the "Extraordinary AIC Policy to Reduce the Risk of Coronavirus Infection", the premises and surfaces are regularly disinfected by alcohol-containing sanitizers. Although there is been NO case of Coronavirus contamination among the students of AIC, the college authorities are taking every precaution to protect the staff, students, and visitors. AIC canceled all its classes last week to provide a period for all students to stay at home. Teachers and staff of AIC will continue with their essential duties. University registration is going on as scheduled.

Students of Avicenna International College (AIC), High School and Foundation Programs I would like to inform you that all the classes of AIC from today March 5, 2020, will be canceled for one week. AIC will proudly present its past 25 years of excellence at this highly visited education exhibition.

The AIC students of Grade 12 celebrated their last year and the entrance to the season of final exams in a ceremony called "szalagavató" or "Senior Students Ball: Prom". The event took place on the 13th of December, 2019. The president of AIC, the Prinicipal, other authorities and teachers together with parents enjoyed the evening at Avicenna International College.
