AI & Financially Smart Sustainable Cities
March 6, 2025
Organized by the Mathematics Subject Group
On March 6, 2025, Avicenna International College proudly hosted an engaging and educational Money Week event focusing on AI & Financially Smart Sustainable Cities. The event was organized by Ms. Hanieh Rezaei and Ms. Zsuzsanna Bozai, bringing together students from all high school grades to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, finance, and urban sustainability.
The day commenced with a thought-provoking workshop led by Ms. Hanieh Rezaei, who introduced students to the concept of smart cities, showcasing how AI is shaping modern urban landscapes while balancing financial and environmental sustainability. The session included real-world examples, such as Budapest’s AI-driven urban projects, and discussions on the benefits and challenges of integrating AI into financial planning and city management. Following this, students participated in an interactive lesson on Mathematics & Finance in Urban Planning, where they explored essential concepts such as budgeting, cost analysis, investment projections, and sustainability cost-benefit analysis. Engaging video materials further enriched their understanding, sparking insightful debates on the pros and cons of AI-powered cities.
The second half of the event was dedicated to an exciting mathematics competition designed by Ms. Zsuzsanna Bozai. Students formed teams of four, ensuring representation from each grade level to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange. The competition challenged students to apply mathematical and financial reasoning to solve real-world problems related to smart city development.
