On 10 December, our school community gathered at the Ferencvárosi Művelődési Központ for one of the most anticipated events of the academic year: the Grade 12 Prom. The evening was a beautifully organised celebration, bringing together students, teachers, families, and school leaders for a memorable farewell to our graduating class. With its thoughtful programme, warm atmosphere, and seamless coordination, the event truly reflected the spirit and values of our school.

From the moment guests arrived, the tone was set by our student volunteers who welcomed everyone at the entrance. Their professionalism and enthusiasm created an inviting atmosphere as students, parents, and teachers made their way into the elegantly decorated hall. The décor- carefully planned and prepared by the Student Council- provided a festive yet refined backdrop for the evening, turning the venue into a space worthy of such a significant milestone.

The programme opened with a welcome from our student hosts, who guided the audience through the evening with confidence and warmth. Their introduction was followed by speeches from the President, Dr. Shahrokh MirzaHosseini, and the Principal, Mr. Steve Szabo. Both reflected on the achievements of the Class of this year’s senior students, acknowledging their resilience, growth, and contributions to school life. Their messages set an inspiring tone, highlighting the pride our community feels for this cohort. The emotions flew high when Mr Sandor and Ms Ágota also addressed our 12 graders.

A particularly heartfelt moment came with the farewell speeches delivered by Gràcia and Setayesh on behalf of Grade 12. Their words captured the shared experiences, friendships, and challenges that have shaped their journey, resonating deeply with students and parents alike.

The ribbon ceremony-one of the most cherished traditions of our school-followed. This symbolic gesture, carried out with dignity, marked the students’ transition as they prepare to move beyond high school. Guided smoothly by staff and student volunteers, the ceremony was both solemn and celebratory, offering families a moment to reflect on how far their children have come.

The second half of the evening showcased the remarkable artistic talents within Grade 12 along with other grade students and host performers, among them David at the piano and Filip as an Erasmus guest student also at the piano. A series of performances, including musical pieces, poetry recitals, dance acts, and instrumental showcases, brought energy and emotion to the stage. Each performance was a testament not only to individual ability but also to the collaborative spirit and confidence our students have developed. The Grade 12 band performance and the traditional waltz were highlights that brought joy and applause from the audience.

After the formal programme concluded, the hall opened for dancing with teachers, parents, and students- a beloved part of the Prom tradition. Laughter, music, and movement filled the room as the community celebrated together. During this time, guests also participated in the voting for Prom King and Queen, Dalibor and Gracia taking the highest prize of the night. The coronation that followed added a touch of fun and festivity, closing the night with excitement and pride.

Prom 2025 was not only a celebration of our students’ accomplishments but also a powerful reminder of the sense of unity within our school. Thanks to careful planning, dedicated staff, and enthusiastic student involvement, the event unfolded flawlessly. It will be remembered as an evening filled with elegance, joy, and heartfelt goodbyes-an unforgettable send-off for a remarkable graduating class.
