NCUK STREAMS IN FOCUS
Students joining AIC can choose from these three most sought after IFY Study Streams or main fields of study depending on what degree they wish to progress onto:
Engineering Stream
Students who wish to progress to an Engineering degree should follow the IFY Engineering Stream.
Science Stream
Students who wish to progress to a Science degree should follow the IFY Science Stream.
Business Stream
Students who wish to progress to Business degrees should follow the IFY Business Stream.
The NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) in Engineering is a one-year qualification designed to prepare international students for first-year entry to undergraduate degree courses at reputable English speaking universities around the world. The core modules are Physics, Mathematics for Engineering, Further Mathematics, English for Academic Purposes.

Students of IFY – Engineering Stream completes the following modules:
In the Physics module, the basic phenomena of nature are discussed from classical physics to introductory modern physics. A-level knowledge of Mechanics, Kinematics, Thermodynamics, and Electromagnetism will be acquired and required for the completion of the course.
Basic mathematics knowledge is required for every science education, however, a tailor-made module for the relevant subjects in engineering are the basis of this course.

The following subjects are offered for IFY – Business Stream:
Economics is an introduction to macro and micro-economics. Topics covered in this module include the economic environment, the market mechanism, market structure and growth, inflation, international trade, and macroeconomic policy.
This module develops knowledge, understanding, skills, and application of a variety of mathematical and statistical techniques that are relevant in the fields of business, humanities, and social science disciplines.
Business Studies is an important module that ensures that students will have a basic understanding of the key concepts of business and management. Marketing, leadership, organizational structure, accounting and finance, human resource management, and corporate strategy are among the topics taught in this module.
English is the language of instruction and science. All our students are expected to have achieved a good level of general English before they join IFY. During the course of IFY, students will be trained in academic English which will be later used at the university.

The following subjects are offered for IFY – Science Stream:
Cell and molecular biology, genetics, physiology, histology, anatomy, and immunology are the subjects covered under the title of BIOLOGY.
This credit prepares students for medical, pharmaceutical, and other science majors.
General chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and biochemistry are taught under the title of chemistry. This credit prepares students for medical and science-oriented majors at any UK or other European university.
All aspects of mathematics including algebra, statistics, and geometry are taught in this credit.
All subjects of mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and molecular physics are discussed in this credit. Physics is taught at the university level preparing students for first-year science majors in any UK university.
