After long preparations, AIC launched its programme of visits to the Library of the Hungarian Parliament in mid-February 2023. Avicenna high school students from grade 10 visited the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library this week. It has been not only a long-cherished goal of the Literature teachers but all of the others to show our teenage students sophisticated learning facilities in the heart of Budapest within an outstanding building, which used to be a Palace (Wenckheim Palace) owned by an aristocrat family in the XIX. century. As an innovation regarding our German language programme at the AIC, we decided to give the opportunity to 11 students to spend a week in the Bavarian city Lindau at our partner language school Dialoge. The students stayed with specially selected German host families. We took an ÖBB train from the Keleti Train Station and entered Germany through the Austrian city Salzburg. The Austrian Alpine scenery, watched from the train, was just simply ‘wunderschön’. We changed trains in Munich and continued with the DB down to the Swiss border to reach our destination Lindau. Avicenna International College (AIC) has been permitted by the Education Authority of Hungary to provide Distant Learning for English language High School programs (General High school and Natural Sciences High school). Those who complete the program successfully will be granted a high school graduation diploma (Erettsegi) by the Hungarian Government. Some of the students of Avicenna Medical Foundation Program who have arrived in Budapest late due to COVID-19 restrictions met with the President of AIC today on Monday, January 12th, 2021. After an introduction, students raised their questions and shared their concerns and requests. President mentioned that extra classes will be organized for them and all required support will be provided to ensure that the pre-medical students are admitted to one of the Hungarian or other European medical universities.
