Preparations for our student Erasmus group mobility in Italy

By |2022-12-15T10:51:09+01:00November 11th, 2022|Erasmus|0 Comments

In early September, on the 12th and 13th, I spent two days in Foligno to prepare an Erasmus group mobility activity for ten carefully selected AIC students for March 2023. Foligno is the third largest town in Umbria region, in central Italy. This mesmerizingly green and close-to-nature, ancient Italian town is surrounded by the Apennines Mountain range, and it lies along the Topino river. The town itself is famous for the first ever print of the Divine Comedy, Dante’s book which is one of the most important literacy works in the Western culture. [...]

By |2022-12-19T08:17:08+01:00November 10th, 2022|Erasmus|0 Comments

Building bridges between EU schools to provide opportunities for our pupils of today and tomorrow. Representing the Avicenna International College from Budapest, I took part in a ten-day programme titled: Creative use of Technology in the Classroom at the Alpha School of English in St. Paul’s Bay, Malta with the very sympathetic and enthusiastic trainer Maria Mifsud. I had been learning a lot of web pages and apps I can use in the classroom works – some of them seemed very useful. There were websites for collaborative classroom work, and others for the motivations of the [...]

By |2022-12-19T08:17:30+01:00November 1st, 2022|Erasmus|0 Comments

Building bridges between EU schools to provide opportunities for our pupils of today and tomorrow. In the following lines, I am going to share my experience and thoughts about the above-mentioned mobility I took part in. I am sharing my feelings and ideas as a high school teacher while reflecting on them from a professional and personal view. This experience was the very first one for me since I have been a teacher in secondary education only for a couple of years. Even though I did learn about ICT tools and had the opportunity to improve [...]

Conflict Management, Emotional Intelligence and Bullying Prevention I took part in this programme as the first mobility of our second Erasmus project involving 7 teachers and 2 groups of students at my international high school Avicenna IC in Budapest, called: Building bridges between EU schools to provide opportunities for our pupils of today and tomorrow. I chose Europass Teacher Academy as a course provider based on my earlier positive experience with them. Recently, in the post-Covid era they embarked on a massive expansion setting up Study Centres and Studios all over Europe with Florence as [...]

Upcoming cultural programs in High School

By |2022-10-26T10:57:20+02:00October 20th, 2022|News|0 Comments

AIC is inviting its high school students for three upcoming cultural activities in the following week. As all the students of our language preparation class have recently arrived in Hungary, we are keen to introduce them the city, its transport, history and its main squares and buildings. So we decided to take them on a guided tour around the Heroes' Square and City Park next week. Both sites offer a great chance to understand the way Hungarians thought and behaved, partly by providing a historical overview, and partly showing the opportunities of future use of museums and winter-summer [...]

Erasmus – ICT Tools for a Creative and Collaborative Classroom in Rome 22-26 May 2023

By |2023-06-16T10:39:20+02:00October 18th, 2022|Erasmus|0 Comments

This mobility experience was the second in a row for me in the 12 months long Erasmus project of our Avicenna International College in Budapest: Building bridges between EU schools to provide opportunities for our pupils of today and tomorrow. I picked this course because my ICT skills definitely needed a good polishing to be able to use an ever-increasing array of digital platforms in the classroom to make teaching not only all the more interesting but also more up to date in line with the latest developments to help the progression of our students. What [...]
