AIC started the beginning of academic year 2023-24 with a surprisingly wonderful cultural program, a unique and one-of-a-kind folk dance play performed by the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble and the Honvéd Férfikar in MÜPA.The lucky 21 students who were involved in the event were from grade 9 accompanied by the Italian Erasmus students, and met in front of the theater on 20. We are excited to announce some significant updates to our Foundation Programs at Avicenna International College. These changes are designed to better reflect the academic content and career pathways offered by each program. Effective immediately, the following updates have been made:

On last day of the academic year 2022-23, on 16 June, just one day after the very highly quoted and memorable 3 day-long School Trip to Sopron and Vienna, we organized a short but concise End of the Year Ceremony.

After years of preparation and hard work, AIC was finally given the opportunity to offer short-term Erasmus+ mobility experiences to our high school students. This semester, fully embarking on this project, we have completed two trips: first to Italy with a group of older students, and then to Ireland with another group of the younger ones. Ten students were selected to spend two weeks in Ireland accompanied by their history teacher, Mr. Mark. Within this short-term Erasmus program, we took part in a so-called “Authentic Irish Experience” project which meant that we were accommodated by local Irish families in Dublin for the duration of our stay and took part in a two-week course provided by Apollo Language Center. The students spent their classes engaging in interactive learning activities with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of Irish history, language and culture, and also to expand their knowledge and consciousness of intercultural values and European citizenship.

In March 2023, Avicenna International College (“Avicenna”) signed a memorandum of understanding with Corvinus University of Budapest. Avicenna is a unique local high school in Budapest, that teaches Hungarian curriculum in English language to predominantly international students. Although the University has more than 250 international partners and works with many of the leading high schools in Hungary, this agreement is the first of its kind for Corvinus. The partnership is, therefore, a key milestone for both Avicenna and the University in their internationalisation objectives, since the College will provide quality international students with greater accessibility to Hungarian higher [...]

This April Avicenna International College organised the German Travel and Study programme called Lindau Deutsch camp for the second time in a row. The programme was fully funded by AIC, the students had to pay for their train tickets only. This time around we had 11 GFP students and one high school student from Grade 11 accompanied by Frau Ágota as the leader of German language education at AIC and Herr Steve, AIC principal and Travel and Study programme manager.
