Discovering the Best Educational Systems from Europe and the World – Rome

This course held in Rome was the last one out of seven individual teacher courses and training of our 2022-23 Erasmus Project Cycle. I opted for this course because I found its description rather appealing, hoping to learn more about the education systems developed and adopted by different other EU and international schools beyond the EU, through discussion and collaborative learning.

First English Language Competition Held for Budapest Secondary Schools by Avicenna International College

For the first time, Avicenna International College organized a two-round English Language Competition for 6th-8th grade students, with the aim of covering all primary schools in Budapest.   The online round took place on 28 January 2023, for which 133 students registered free of charge, and the second, offline round was held on 13 March. First job shadowing activity

AIC welcomed its very first job shadowing activity when an Italian colleague Alessia Montanucci spent a week with us from 30 Jan until 3 February. Alessia came from Marsciano in Umbria from the Salvatorelli-Moneta high school. She is also the Erasmus coordinator of her school where she teaches English and where two of our 5 Italian Erasmus students are coming from, Luca and Noemi. ERASMUS + projects and opportunities Following the first-ever successfully obtained grant for a short-term Erasmus project last year, Avicenna International College has managed to win funding worth 41.837 EUR for the mobility of 27 AIC students and teachers in the second short-term Erasmus tender as well for 2022-23. On the 7th, 8th and 11th of November the students and teachers of the AIC Diploma Programs participated in a cultural program of Budapest city tour starting from Heroes’ square and touching the City Park, Széchenyi Spa, the Városliget Ice Rink, Vajdahunyad Castle, the Budapest Zoo, Gundel Restaurant, Andrássy Avenue, Octagon Square, the Hungarian Opera House, and St Stephens’ Basilica - the largest church in Budapest. Preparations for our student Erasmus group mobility in Italy

In early September, on the 12th and 13th, I spent two days in Foligno to prepare an Erasmus group mobility activity for ten carefully selected AIC students for March 2023. Foligno is the third largest town in Umbria region, in central Italy. This mesmerizingly green and close-to-nature, ancient Italian town is surrounded by the Apennines Mountain range, and it lies along the Topino river.
