Avicenna – Metropolitan University Pathway

Metropolitan University and Avicenna International College, both located in Budapest, have concluded an agreement to facilitate the admission, enrollment and education of international students at the prestigious Metropolitan University in Budapest. All studies and training at AIC and Metropolitan University take place in English. Upon successful graduation, students will receive a prestigious degree at BA/BSc and MA/MSc levels. With the accreditation of the Hungarian Government, in 2016 METU was established, built on the combination of several colleges such as Budapest College of Communication. Discovering the Best Educational Systems from Europe and the World – Rome

This course held in Rome was the last one out of seven individual teacher courses and training of our 2022-23 Erasmus Project Cycle. I opted for this course because I found its description rather appealing, hoping to learn more about the education systems developed and adopted by different other EU and international schools beyond the EU, through discussion and collaborative learning.

Innovating Sustainability: A Recap of Avicenna International College’s Sustainability and Innovation Project Week

Sustainability and Innovation Project Week took place at Avicenna International College between 24-28th of April. Preparation for the programs started weeks in advance in order to make this a meaningful event for AIC high school students. Students were divided into groups as a way to strengthen cohesiveness and teamwork of the AIC community, and were given specific topics to research and eventually present to their fellow students.

BIMUN Conference – first dissemination event about a new initiative at AIC

At the end of April, we held our first dissemination event about a new initiative at AIC: Our Model UN Club and shared some insights of our participation in the Model UN – BIMUN Conference. The teachers, Ms. Emese, Mr. Márk, and 5 chosen students have been working assiduously on a so-called ‘Pilot year’ of Model UN and preparing its implementation fully into our annual curriculum and school-year schedule.

Avicenna International College Hungarian-English Bilingual High School held the Graduation Ceremony of the 2022–2023 academic year on the afternoon of May 4th. During this event the school bids farewell to the graduating high schoolers, and the graduates thank the teachers, staff and school mates for all the joyous memories they shared together.

Visit to the Parliament – April 2023

On 4. April AIC took a few Foundation Students from AMFP, BFP and TFP on a free visit to the Parliament. This time, they were guided by an English audio guide on a 45-minute tour of perhaps the most beautiful Parliament in the world. The group of ten, consisting mainly of Persian students and one Russian student, with two escorts, took a direct tram from the AIC building to the Parliament as usual. Our mission As AIC educates more than ten nationalities every year the need for the organization of an International Festival has become evident.
